The Gentleman in Green
AED 1,150
Deep green robes give this figure immediate gravity. Against them, the pale turban and face become the natural focus, while the upright pose keeps the composition formal. The printed line is exact and the watercolour is applied with enough variation to show the colourist's hand. We have not yet confirmed the maker, date or identity of the sitter. Rather than supply a false story, we let the surviving evidence speak: dress, bearing and exceptionally controlled colour.
