A Week in Provence: Notes From the Road

We sourced this trip backwards: starting at the smallest village brocante and working towards the larger fairs, on the theory that the good things go early and the interesting things go late.

It worked. The best find of the week came out from under a table at eight in the morning, wrapped in a bedsheet, from a dealer who was more interested in his coffee than in selling us anything.

The painting we argued about is still with us. Nour wanted it for the shop. Domitille wanted it for her hallway. It is currently in the Founder's Edit, which is our compromise.

Everything travels home together, is condition-checked in the studio, then reframed piece by piece before it appears on the site.
